Catherine Markijohn, DVM, CVMA

Dr. MJ joined the Harris Boulevard Veterinary Clinic team in August of 2016. She grew up in Sanford, NC where she worked as a kennel attendant then veterinary assistant through high school and college. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University and received her certificate for Veterinary Medical Acupuncture through Curacore in 2021. Dr. Markijohn joined University Animal Hospital in Greensboro, NC after graduation then relocated to Charlotte to be closer to family in 2016. 

Dr. Markijohn's professional interests include feline medicine, pain management, physical therapy and rehabilitation, gerontology, animal behavior, and complementary medicine including acupuncture. Dr. MJ also has experience performing stem cell therapy.

She enjoys spending time with her family, her four dogs (Robin, D' Artagnan, Piper and Benny) and four cats  (Dulce, Grayson, Wesley, Link), reading, playing various musical instruments including the cello, and enjoying the outdoors during walks through the park.
